Your website looks beautiful. The colours feel aligned. The imagery holds the right energy. The fonts are soft and intentional. But the inquiry emails are not coming in.
This is one of the most common things I see with healer websites. They feel exactly right and yet they are not doing the one thing a website exists to do.
Beautiful design without a clear strategy is just a digital mood board. And your ideal client cannot book from a mood board.
Here are seven things that actually make a healer website convert not in a pushy, salesy way, but in the deeply human, trust-led way that works for this kind of work.
1) A hero section that speaks to where your client is right now
The hero section is everything your visitor sees before she scrolls. And most healer websites waste it.
They lead with a welcome message. Their name and title. Or a vague spiritual phrase that could apply to almost anyone.
None of that creates the moment of recognition your ideal client is looking for.
What works is leading with her experience. Not your solution, her reality. The exact place she is standing when she finds you.
Compare these two:
“Welcome. I am a certified energy healer and somatic practitioner.” — tells her nothing about whether she is in the right place
“Feeling disconnected from your body after years of pushing through? You are not broken. You are just ready for a different kind of support.” — stops the right person immediately
The second one creates an instant feeling of: yes. That is exactly it.
Your hero section needs one clear headline that speaks to her experience, one short line that offers hope, and one single call to action. Not three options. One.
2) An about page that makes her see herself in your story
Your about page is almost certainly the most visited page on your website. And most healers write it entirely about themselves.
Credentials. Training programmes. Professional background.
All of that matters, but it should come after something more important. Emotional recognition. Your potential client is not reading your about page to learn about you. She is reading it to find out if you understand her.
The most effective about pages for healers open with her experience, not yours. Acknowledge the struggle, the threshold, the place she is standing right now. Then share your own before. The season of your life that brought you to this work, written honestly, not heroically. Then describe the shift. Then bridge to your work, how your own path now lives at the centre of how you help people.
Close with a warm, soft invitation rather than a hard call to action.
When your about page is structured this way, the right client finishes reading it and thinks: she has been where I am. She knows this territory. I trust her.
1) Your website needs to go into real detail
This is the most important thing in this entire post.
ChatGPT is matching detailed, specific questions to detailed, specific websites. If your content is vague or thin, there is nothing for it to match against.
Your services pages, your About page, and your homepage all need to go into genuine detail about:
- who specifically you work with and what they are going through
- what your approach or modality actually involves
- how you get results for your clients
- what working with you looks and feels like
- what changes or shifts after working with you
- why you do this work and what makes your approach different
- practical details like session format, length, and investment
For healers, this is the exact tension that holds most websites back. The instinct is to keep things poetic and open. But vague copy does not just lose human visitors, it makes you invisible to AI too.
Your soul-led language still belongs on your website. It just needs to sit alongside specific, clear language that leaves no doubt about who you are and who you help.
2) Ranking in search engines still matters, but not in the way you think
Because ChatGPT uses search engines to find websites, traditional SEO still matters.
But the goal shifts slightly. You are no longer just optimising for a keyword to rank on page one. You are optimising for your website to be the most detailed, most accurate, most specific answer to a very human and very specific question.
This also means it is worth making sure your website is properly indexed. Two free tools worth submitting to:
- Google Search Console — submit your sitemap at yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml
- Bing Webmaster Tools — do the same there
Both are free and take about ten minutes each. If you are on Squarespace or Showit, your sitemap already exists; you just need to tell the search engines where to find it.
3) A lead from ChatGPT is the most valuable lead you will get
When ChatGPT recommends your practice to someone, and they click through to your website, that visitor is nothing like the average Google visitor who is casually browsing options.
ChatGPT has already explained to them why your practice could be a good fit. They know what they are looking for. They know why they are clicking. They are arriving with real intent.
They are already half-convinced before they have read a single word on your site.
But that also means your website has a bigger job to do when they arrive. If they land on something that feels unclear, looks unpolished, or makes it hard to take the next step, they will quietly close the tab and go back to ChatGPT to check the next recommendation.
A website that is not just beautiful but genuinely clear, trustworthy, and easy to navigate is what turns that warm, already-interested visitor into an actual inquiry.
Where to start?
You do not need to rebuild your entire website.
Start with the Perplexity experiment. See how AI currently understands your practice. Then go through your main services page and ask yourself honestly: Does this go into enough detail about who I help and how I work?
If the answer is no, that is your starting point.
Your website is already out there, quietly being read by AI tools. You cannot control whether that happens. But you can control what they read.
